It was sure FUNN to have the FUNN Fann Croppers here Saturday! Sorry about that hot salsa, Elizabeth!

Here is a delish recipe for “Bama Pie” from Allene – my “best student” from Pleasanton….

3 T, brown sugar (heaping / packed)
1/2 c, (or 1/2 stick) butter flavored Crisco
Blend with pastry blender and press into a 13″ x 9″ x 2″ pan – Allene says aluminum is best – line with parchment paper.
Bake crust for 15 – 20 minutes at 375 degrees.

While this is baking, stir up the filling:
1/2 c. corn syrup
1/2 c. brown sugar (heaping / packed)
2 T. melted butter
1 t. vanilla
2 eggs (beaten)
1 c. chopped pecans
Pour on to baked crust and bake 15 – 20 minutes at 375 degrees.
Cool and pull out of pan using the parchment paper on to a cutting board and cut into squares.

And the really cool thing is when you eat these at FUNN Cropps, I’m pretty sure they do not have calories!
