Beautiful Fall Day Window Card with Tutorial

Aww… Sassy Kitty enjoying the view from my studio window on a beautiful fall day.
I was looking out my window this morning; it was such a beautiful fall day I had to re-create it.
We live with pecan trees all over the yard which are getting more yellow leaves every day.
The kitty? Why, that is my Miss Sassy.
Here is what I did to make this piece:
Cut 4- 1.75″ Sky card stock squares
Cut 1- 3.75″ Cocoa card stock square.
Folded a 8.5″ x 5.5″ piece of Kraft card stock into a 4.25″ x 5.5″ card.
btw… this is a card I’ll keep just to enjoy. Probably will mount it on a small canvas and hang it.

Sanded the Sky pieces first exposing the white core of the card stock.
Added a square of Hermafix tab adhesive to hold the squares still temporarily on scrap paper while stamping the tree.
It was then I learned to make the window frame 3.75″.
Inked my tree (you need this tree – I seriously have used it extensively; Grown with Love D1372) in Cocoa ink. You seriously need Cocoa ink, too!
Gotta love the ease of using My Acrylix clear stamps! Gotta a little messy on the block! tee hee

Sponged the edges of the sanded Sky card stock with Sky ink. Getting prettier with every step!
Then stamped leaves with Sunflower and Pear. I think the ink covered well on the Sky blue paper.

Next I “glassed” the window panes!
Ran a line or bead of Liquid Glass (seriously, you need Liquid Glass!) down the edge of one Sky square at a time.

Then, using a scrap of card stock, I spread the Liquid Glass across the “pane” of the window.
Complete each pane before you glass the next pane.
You can see a dull area if you miss a spot by tilting the card in the light. It is easy to add a bit more to bald spots.

Tied this big fat beautiful ribbon with hemp onto a “wood” button.
Put it all together. I taped the ribbon down on the back side of the strip of  Dreamin’ B&T paper – can you see it underneath the big fat beautiful ribbon?
Then I decided there was something missing – my kitty cat! I cut her silhouette out by hand in Gray Wool and edged her with Gray Wool ink.

Products Used:
Papers: Dreamin’, Sky card stock, Cocoa card stock, Gray Wool card stock, Kraft card stock
Inks: Sky, Cocoa, Sunflower, Pear
Embellishments: Big Fat Beautiful Ribbon (officially named “Dark Chocolate Striped Grosgrain), Wood Button and Natural hemp
My Acrylix Stamp Set: Grown with Love
Extras: Liquid Glass – gotta have this!
