This month has been a great month on http://www.jeanettelynton.com/ .
The founder and CEO of Close To My Heart has answered questions which tell us a lot about who she is. This Q & A I found to be particularly relevant to many of us!
“I love to scrapbook and preserve my family’s memories, but it seems like I am always behind. Seriously, I take way too many pictures and still have 5+ years of events to scrap. I don’t scrap every picture or every event, but still there are so many events and fun memories I want to capture. How do I do it? Are your scrapbooks up to date and current? If so, what is your secret? –submitted by Amy”
I love her answer, here it is:
“Answer: Amy, I am with you! I am not at all “current” in my scrapbooking, but I have absolutely no guilt or pressure about that. I gave that up years ago! When I first started scrapbooking, I did everything chronologically. But today, I scrapbook whatever and whenever it suits me. For example, I’ve made a gratitude album about all the things I’m thankful for. I’ve made a “favorite memories” album where I’ve given myself permission to “re-scrapbook” favorite photos that warrant a second go. I’ve created event albums, and albums that focus on a particular child, like my “Jared Smiles” album featuring classic smiles from my son’s life.
Mostly, rather than feeling overwhelmed by lots of unscrapbooked photos, I feel happy knowing I have them: beautiful pictures, beautiful memories, all waiting for me to relive during the creative process. Having many photos to scrapbook doesn’t mean I’m behind, it means I’m ALIVE.”
