Share your story here so we can all be inspired in this season of White Elephants!

A winner will be drawn randomly from the entries for a personal set of White Elephant gift tags (which could become a White Elephant on its own)!

Be sure to add your favorite White Elephant gift idea today or email me so I can add it for you!
Drawing will be held on Wednesday, December 8th.

Congratulations, Miss SUE!

The McBeth family had a ceramic goldfish that used to be passed around on birthdays and holidays. It ended up being passed between my Papa and me. Now I am the proud owner. The spray painted fish has a prominent place in my living room.

The worst white elephants, I think, are alive.

My sister went to a Christmas party and got a fuzzy bathrobe in a brown/white cow print. She held on to it during the game passing up the opportunity to trade it for another present. She gave it to me and I just love it. It still keeps me warm after all these years.

One of my friends told me that when they get invited to a White Elephant gift exchange, they bring a framed picture of themselves. They usually leave with the same picture since noone seems to want to keep that present. 🙂

I was a teacher at a Catholic School where the staff did a white elephant exchange each year. Our mascot was the cardinal and in our logo, it was depicted like he was running, wings lifted, and one leg out front. This translated well to a painted toilet seat one year, done up beautifully in school colors. The logo was painted on the lifted lid, with mixed gray, white blobs spattered around the seat. It gave a whole new interpretation to that lifted leg that the school staff really never shook after that year!

We have a white elephant gift exchange at work every year. For over 5 years, the same electric teapot made it's way to the exchange. Finally, last year someone said that's enough…this can't come back again! Little do they know, I think it just may make one final appearance as a "special" gift for that person!!
