Three Itsy Bitsy Paper Spider Projects & GNOME-vember

Saturdays on my 10:00 a.m. Central FB LIVE from my MESK! or wait until MUNNday and get the scoop here.

I appreciate a spider who knows his place which is never in my house. These spiders, however, are definitely the exception.

These are such FUNN to make and can be created out of about any paper and embellishment scraps. The other crafty items you will want to have are:

  • 2″ body circle, 1.5″ circle body pretty, 1″ circle head
  • craft springs to pop the spider off the project
  • googly eyes
  • 1/4″ hold punch for the “O” mouth
  • fibers, ribbons, shimmer trim, pipe cleaners, or glitter paper for legs
  • gems, sequins, stars, small buttons, or other gems to decorate back
  • some sort of card, banner, goodie bag base
There are so many ways to use these spiders (and their insects buddies), there is no limit.
Watch this video for some ideas and see how I build Miss Pinky Spider.

She does look stunning, doesn’t she? She would certainly stand out from all the 35,000 species of spiders in the world. Did you know there are PINK tarantulas in Brazil? Thanks, Carmen, for that little tidbit!
Her web comes from my oral surgery after care kit – extractions can be so handy for crafting.
This week’s Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog’s theme is “Anything Goes”. Well, if there is anything I like to go from my house, it is spiders!

Another FUNN challenge blog is the Inspired By Challenge which features one of my favorite Close To My Heart crafters Laurel Seabrook (be sure to check out her blog). Michele Ferguson came up with the challenge to create based on this photo. Really FUNN, right?

To celebrate the table runner inspiration, we have ourselves a pretty glitzy, highly caffeinated spider running across our table leaving a messy web behind (and in front) of him. Messy webs happen when spiders drink caffeine, I guess. It is so FUNN to play along with this challenge, and direct my FUNN friends to your blog. I would never be the same if this spider really ran down my table. Never.Be.the.Same.
