Do you ever get a “crush” on a craft trend? Well, I have one on gnomes. As a part of FUNN University‘s outreach to the crafting community, we are taking our gnomes to the public this month on my Saturday morning LIVE from my MESK! FB show.

Here is a how-to make a “gnome of letters” video. If you want to know the book reference, it is in the comments on YouTube. May I present Gnome #2.

FUNN stuff? Here is the poem I referenced in the video. I found it on DLTK’s Crafts for Kids site.

There was an Old Man with a Beard

by Edward Lear

There was an Old Man with a beard,
Who said, “It is just as I feared! —
    Two Owls and a Hen,
    Four Larks and a Wren,
Have all built their nests in my beard.”

Isn’t the internet a wonderful place for inspiration and mashing of ideas? The next (gnext) gnome was inspired by this month’s FUNN University Plaid and Weaves Cards+ Labs and Julee Tilman’s very cool sketch on Poetic Artistry (formerly Mojo Monday). We’ll be making this gnome on Thursday’s FUNN U. Plaids & Weaves Cards+ Lab! :o)

Visit Julee’s site for so many great ideas!
