Beginner Stamping Basics with Great Tips from Experts

What did you do twenty years ago that changed your life?

I signed up as a Close To My Heart consultant, that’s what I did! And, changed my life it did – and so much more for the better, too.

Today’s video is a little mix of nostalgia, and some basics of stamping, with some very FUNN friends. See how you can stamp with some very basic equipment…cardstock, an ink, and a stamp set. Scroll down to get more tips from some very savvy stampers.

This is a really OLD card made my original upline April! It is on glossy card stock, used a garage sale circle stamp, one ink, and one stamp (plus a sentiment). It takes me way back to the early days of no online photos or videos,
Inspiration Card from about 1997.
2020’s version of a classic card

What did it take to make this card?
White card stock – cutting instructions in video, one pack makes roughly 48 cards or White Cards and Envelopes (no need for a trimmer when you choose these)
Black Archival Ink Stamp Pad – will need to “stamp off” your stamp once you’ve ink and stamped it by repeatedly stamping on scratch paper, can wipe with a damp washcloth, too (or get the Stamp Shammy)
Sponge (cut into 1/4ths)
Spruced Up Stamp Set – cardmaking or with Thin Cuts

Spruced Up—Scrapbooking
Spruced Up – Scrapbooking Stamp Set (D1902); there are already 7 more cards made with this stamp on the first Cards+ Lab FUNN U. class!

Here are some tips and encouragements our FUNN friends shared during the LIVE.
Vicki – Best begginers tip is don’t give up if you make mistakes. It got easier for me the more I did it. Yes, my first stamps were DOTS. I’ve never looked back, lol.
Sherri – Best beginner tip – don’t rely on Michael’s cheap little ink cubes or you’ll be disappointed in anything you ever do.
Terri  – Fellowship!
Sherri – Mistakes are opportunities to embellish!
Barbara – Don’t buy cheap stuff. You definitely get what you pay for.

One of my favorite things to do is take a stamp set and “go deep” into lots of ideas and ways to use it. We do this during the three LIVE Cards+ Lab classes on FUNN University every month.
Here are some comments about FUNN U. from some of our students.

Barbara – Making the cards pays for the monthly fee. If you bought 7 cards it would cost more than $30
Vicki – Absolutely love FUNN University! Great projects, instructions and support from the tech guy!!
Connie – I love funn U too!
Barbara – Plus we’re building quite a community
Colleen – The past 4 months the style and class has been way ahead of the curve. Love it.

I thought the CAS(E) this Sketch sketch was darn cute this week, too, and made an adaptation of the black and white tree card to enter. You may not be able to leave comments, per the blog protocol, and it’s ok. I get it, but I get a lot of spam without a captcha, so we’re cool. Thanks for having a great blog.

Do you love black and white cards, scrapbook pages? Be sure to visit us on the MESKY campus of FUNN University next Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. on FB. for several new cards as we “go deep”
