Ending the year with students and wanted to make them a little something, so off to #DollarGeneral for the essentials and to my stash for the beautification of the essentials.
FIRST – Mini Composition books (three for $1.00)
SECOND-some pencils (eight for $1.50)
THIRD-from my beautiful stash…Patterned paper, cardstock, and washi tape.
Cut a piece of patterned paper or cardstock to cover the front and back of the mini comp book.
I cut 3″ strips first and then trimmed to 4.5″.
The pieces were about 3″x4.5″.
Extra credit for using paper which coordinates with pencils.
I used ATG for my adhesive being careful to get close to the edges.
Added another small piece of coordinating cardstock (Paper FUNNdamentals)
and a hand-lettered name element (their favorite part).
Names could be stamped, of course.
I used washi tape to adhere the pencil.
It was pretty simple to do and the kids liked them.
One little boy said, “This is awesome,” another said he was going to use it to start his bird list.
Extra credit, add a touching personal note and a list of writing ideas.
I, however, stopped trying for extra credit at the coordinating papers.
Extra blog credit-how much did I spend on each gift (scroll down for the answer).
Four more days.
